MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide, a short chain of 16 amino acids coded by the DNA inside mitochondria. It is studied, mostly in animals, for its role in cellular energy and glucose use. Through Awesentials it is compounded by a licensed US pharmacy and prescribed only when a licensed provider decides it is appropriate.
Injection-site redness, itching, swelling or bruising are the most commonly reported effects; headache, nausea, flushing and tiredness are reported less often. Allergic reactions are possible. Long-term safety in people has not been established. Tell your provider about every medication and supplement you take, any history of cancer, and any medical condition. Changes in blood sugar are possible, especially with diabetes medication.
Ships from a licensed US pharmacy in discreet packaging, temperature-controlled where required. Cancel any time in your patient portal before the next billing date. See the Shipping Policy and Refund Policy.
Awesentials provides no medical services. All care is provided by licensed providers through an independent clinical partner. This is a compounded medication prepared by a licensed US pharmacy for an individual patient on a provider's prescription. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and have not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality. Individual results vary and no outcome is promised. 18+ only.
Peptide programs: Peptides in this program are compounded by a licensed US pharmacy for an individual patient. They are not FDA-approved, most research on them comes from lab and animal studies, and evidence in people is limited. No result is promised. BPC-157, TB-500 (thymosin beta-4 fragments) and MOTS-c are on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List. If you compete in a tested sport, check your sport's anti-doping rules and talk to your provider before starting.
This product is available only by prescription after an online visit with a licensed provider, who decides whether it is appropriate for you based on your medical history. Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to any ingredient. Tell your provider about every medication, supplement and condition. Stop and seek care immediately if you have a severe reaction; call 911 in an emergency. Read more.

MOTS-c, in plain words
What it is in 10 seconds
MOTS-c is a small peptide coded by your mitochondria, the energy centers inside your cells. Researchers study it for how cells use energy and sugar. Most research is in animals, and a licensed provider decides whether it fits you.
Research areas, not promised results. Most studies are in labs or animals, and evidence in people is limited.
Your licensed provider reviews your full history and makes the final decision.
MOTS-c is coded by mitochondrial DNA rather than the DNA in the cell nucleus, which made its discovery in 2015 a surprise.
In lab and animal studies it acts on AMPK, a sensor cells use to balance energy.
Some studies find levels rise with exercise, which is why it is studied alongside activity, not instead of it.
Myth
MOTS-c is a fat burner.
Fact
No. Research on weight and metabolism is mostly in animals, and no result is promised.
Myth
It replaces exercise.
Fact
No. It is studied alongside activity, not instead of it.
Myth
It is safe with any medication.
Fact
Not necessarily. If you take insulin or medication that lowers blood sugar, your provider needs to know first.
