Possible side effects

Do not use if you or a family member have had medullary thyroid cancer, or if you have multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN 2). In animal studies these medications caused thyroid C-cell tumors; it is not known whether they do in people. The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and stomach pain. Serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, kidney problems from dehydration, low blood sugar when combined with some diabetes medications, and allergic reactions. Not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your provider about every medication you take and any history of pancreatitis, gallbladder, kidney or eye problems. Tirzepatide can make birth control pills less effective; ask your provider about a backup method.

FAQ

Tirzepatide questions

More in the Help Center, or send us a question.

Is compounded tirzepatide FDA-approved?

No. Compounded tirzepatide is prepared by a licensed US pharmacy for an individual patient and is not FDA-approved. FDA-approved brand-name products are a separate option you can discuss with your provider.

How is tirzepatide different from semaglutide?

Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 receptor. Tirzepatide acts on both the GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Which one, if either, fits you is your provider's decision.

Can I switch from another provider?

Yes. The online visit asks about your current medication and dose. Answer accurately so your provider can decide on a safe dose.

Does the price change when my dose changes?

No. The monthly or quarterly price is the same at every dose your provider prescribes.

What does the price include?

The online visit, provider review, medication and shipping, unless a program page says otherwise. Prices may change; the price at checkout applies.

What if the provider decides treatment is not appropriate?

You pay only the visit fee. No medication ships and no subscription starts.

Are these medications FDA-approved?

The programs use compounded medications prepared by a licensed US pharmacy for an individual patient. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.
